The Cobalt Vertex Slide is Juntetsu's slide-cut specialist — a Takefu VG-10 cobalt shear with a 45-degree convex edge geometry tuned to glide through hair with minimal resistance during the slide-cutting motion. Where traditional convex edges catch and release in a controlled bite, the Vertex geometry is drawn out for the long drawing motions that define slide cutting as a technique. The cobalt variant of VG-10 adds a marginal hardness edge over standard VG-10, and the offset handle supports the extended reach of a slide cut. Hand-finished in our Tokyo workshop across 124 steps — the shear for stylists whose cutting style is defined by the slide.
