About this shear
The VG10 Moonlight Barber is Juntetsu's dark-finished VG-10 shear for barbers — a moonlight-toned matte coating over the blade for scratch resistance, and a barber-tuned handle balance for scissor-over-comb work and bulk removal. VG-10 steel holds its edge through the heavier cutting patterns of barbering, and the matte finish keeps the shear looking bench-fresh across years of daily use. Hand-finished in our Tokyo workshop across 124 steps, the Moonlight Barber is the matte VG-10 blade for the barbering side of the craft.

What is the Moonlight finish on the Juntetsu VG10?
The Moonlight finish is a dark matte coating applied over VG-10 steel that adds scratch resistance and gives the shears a distinctive low-profile look. It does not affect cutting performance.
Is the Juntetsu Moonlight suitable for hairdressing as well as barbering?
While sized for barbering at 6.0 to 7.0 inches, the 6.0 inch version works well for general hairdressing. The VG-10 convex edge performs equally on wet and dry hair.
